Achieving Independence
Support Services
About me:
I am a longtime resident of Howard County, Maryland, where I currently live, work and volunteer. I have raised my family in Howard County and attended school here myself at Howard High School. I am very familiar with the resources, supports and activities available in our community.
My academic journey led me to earn an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree both in Psychology, focusing on intellectual disabilities, from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. This educational path was influenced by personal encounters with individuals in my family and community who encountered challenges accessing services and supports.
Throughout my professional journey, my primary focus has been on assisting and educating others. My diverse experience encompasses supporting individuals of various ages and abilities. I dedicated seven years to special education and behavior management within HCPSS, followed by three years providing direct assistance to individuals with Autism, and an additional three years as a Service Coordinator facilitating access to DDA waivered services.
I am driven by a dedication to aiding others, advocating for rights and equal treatment, and empowering others to live a life of their choosing.
